Bryan Singer Working On New TV Series For SyFy

Bryan Singer is reportedly developing a new series for the folks at SyFy.

The X-Men: Days of Future Past director is working with Bad Hat Harry Productions to develop a show centered around a giant monster that emerges off the coast of North California. As of this writing, the project bears the title Creature At Bay.

John Cabrera, who is also executive producing the series alongside Bryan Singer, will pen the script for the 90-minute pilot. Jason Taylor was reportedly hired as an executive producer on the proposed program as well.

According to Dark Horizons, Creature At Bay tells the story of a small town that is thrust into the spotlight after a giant monster lays waste to the area. The show will focus on the efforts of a California Emergency Management Agency employee tasked with cleaning things up.

Bryan Singer is presently busy putting the final touches on his upcoming superhero flick X-Men: Days of Future Past. The movie should arrive in theaters around the planet next year.

While fans of the Jack the Giant Slayer director are waiting to see how Creature At Bay shapes up, they’ll be able to check out Singer’s latest effort on the big screen in 2014. According to the filmmaker, fans should expect plenty of epic superhero adventure from the upcoming blockbuster.

Singer told Empire magazine:

I don’t think people realise how big this movie’s going to be. We get to bring both casts together. We’ve cracked it in a way that it makes sense. I had a two-hour conversation with James Cameron about time travel, string theory, multiverses and all that. You have to create your rules and stick wtih them. That’s why Terminator and Back To The Future work so well. And there are certain mechanisms in X-Men, certain powers, perceptions and characters, that make this possible.

Are you looking forward to Bryan Singer’s Creature At Bay? What do you think about the filmmaker working with SyFy on the new series?
