Britney Spears: Leave Miley Cyrus Alone

Britney Spears thinks you need to mind your manners and leave Miley Cyrus alone.

Almost everyone on the entire planet formed an opinion about the “Wrecking Ball” singer following her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. If you don’t enjoy Cyrus’ penchant for twerking, then Spears thinks you should keep your opinions to yourself.

During her chat with the folks at Extra, the former X Factor judge weighed in on the controversy surrounding Miley Cyrus’ VMAs performance. According to Britney Spears, everyone should cut the former Hannah Montana star some slack.

“I remember that age when I was just transferring into my career and doing more controversial things and the energy that you feel, all this chaos going on, and she is on fire right now, she’s just a ball full of energy,” the 31-year-old singer explained during the recent interview.

Spears added that the MTV Video Music Awards are generally a good venue for artists to take a few risks. The “Toxic” singer caused a stir a few years back when she locked lips with Madonna during their performance. In other words, Spears understands what Miley is dealing with at the moment.

“It’s a time to embellish a little bit on the creative side of what you do, to bring the artistic side of what you do out,” she said.

Not only does the singer have a new album to promote, Britney Spears is also the centerpiece of an upcoming Las Vegas show. Piece of Me will kick things off on December 27 at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Spears will perform 50 shows per year during her stint at the casino. The singer will receive a whopping $310,000 per show. In other words, she stands to make quite a bit of money over the next few years.
