‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Introduces Exciting Characters In First Images [Photos]

We still have to wait a while for the new Hunger Games film, but at least we have an extensive view at how The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is going to look once it hits theaters. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been announced to his theaters worldwide on November 22, and while details surrounding the film have been a secret, we now have the first look at many of the new facets about the sequel, including new and exciting characters.

The stills of Catching Fire come at an exciting time for the film series. It’s been announced that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be premiere on November 14 at the Rome Film Festival as part of the Out Of Competition slot. Those of you who are lucky enough will be able to see it a week earlier than it’s slated date of November 22.

The Hunger Games fans who won’t be in Rome will have to savor all of the new stills that were released today. New photos capture Elizabeth Banks, who we know plays the colorful Effie Trinket, as well as other old characters. The stills show both new and old characters in the pre-games looks.

Characters included in each still are Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Effie, Haymitch, Cinna, Plutarch, Beetee, Caesar, President Snow, Primrose, Wiress, Enobaria, Brutus, Gloss, Cashmere, and of course, the two most talked about characters, Finnick and Johanna, played by Jena Malone, and Sam Claflin.

In an interview about The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence told Vogue that she does relate to her character’s experience. At the time she said:

“The Hunger Games is the reason for my fame. I don’t know if it necessarily taught me about how to deal with fame, but there were a lot of things I felt like Katniss and I had a lot in common. She had to go to the capitol and all of a sudden she was wearing these weird clothes, and didn’t feel like herself. She kind of felt like a rag doll.”

Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will feature Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, as they become targets of the Capitol after their monumental victory at the 74th Hunger Games sparks a public outcry, and a rebellion within the Distrcts of Panem.

Are you excited to see how the new characters interact with the old character in The Hunger Games series?
