Daniela Ruah: ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star Expecting Her First Child


Daniela Ruah has a little one on the way.

The NCIS: Los Angeles star and her fiance David Olsen announced this week that they’re expecting a baby boy.

“I’m so thrilled about having a baby boy and starting a new chapter as a parent with David,” the 29-year-old actress told People.”Its amazing how in love I am with this little person I’ve only seen on a black and white screen. I’m starting my own family and there is no other feeling like it,” she added.

Daniela Ruah didn’t go far to find love. The 37-year-old David Olsen is the older brother of her NCIS: Los Angeles co-star Eric Christian Olsen, who actually just had a baby boy of his own last month with is wife, Sarah Wright.

Ruah and David Olsen met on the set of the show where Daniela plays Special Agent Kensi Blye and Olsen serves as the stunt double for his brother. David is also a former Navy SEAL.

Ruah was born in Boston to Portuguese parents. Her family moved back to Portugal when she was young, and Daniela started her acting career with parts in Portuguese soap operas when she was a teen. When she turned 18, Daniela moved to London where she studied performing arts at the London Metropolitan University.

She went on to win the celebrity dance competition Danca Comigo, the Portuguese version of Dancing with the Stars, and from there started taking on bigger roles in television shows, short films, and theater. In 2007 she moved to the United States to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Ruah returns to television on September 24 when NCIS: Los Angeles returns for its fifth season.

Daniela Ruah has not announced an exact due date but said she is expecting her first child later this winter.
