Actress Laurie Holden has landed a lead role in next year’s Dumb and Dumber sequel.
As production on the long-awaited sequel draws near, the producers are quickly assembling a cast of talented actors and actresses to bring the story to life. According to Coming Soon, Holden is the female lead in Bobby and Peter Farrelly’s Dumb and Dumber To.
The Walking Dead alum will star alongside Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the comedy. Kathleen Turner and the blind kid from the original flick are all scheduled to make appearances in the flick. Shooting should begin later this year.
Although Laurie Holden is best known for her role in the hit AMC series, she also has a few big-screen endeavors under her belt. Not only did she tackle parts in The Mist and the Jim Carrey drama The Majestic, Holden also starred in the big-screen adaptation of Silent Hill.
Info about the Dumb and Dumber sequel is sketchy at the moment. Although it’s believed that Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne will embark on another epic road trip, specifics about their journey are being kept under wraps.
In order to get everyone excited about the project, star Jim Carrey recently shared a picture of his chipped tooth on Who Say. This proved to just about everyone on the planet that the actor is very serious about returning to the character he portrayed way back in 1994.
According to Jeff Daniels, fans of the original movie will have plenty to laugh about when the follow-up arrives in theaters next year. The actor claims the script is “painfully funny.”
“We’re middle-aged and still that stupid. Our IQ has not gone up one point combined. So it’s a frightening thing. You’re gonna see the two of us standing there trying to put thoughts together and you want to put underneath, ‘Kids don’t do this at home.’ It’s that stupid,” the actor said.
