No Suspects In Custody As Police Search For Active Shooters In Washington, D.C.


According to police, there are no suspects in custody as authorities search for active shooters in Washington, D.C. At least 10 people are injure and one is reported dead at this time.

The scene is active and updates are coming in fast and furious, with numbers expected to change by the minute

Police say at least three shooters, including one in fatigues, are suspected in shooting the victims at a Washington, D.C. Navy facility.

Authorities said one suspect is down, although it’s unclear whether the individual is shot or apprehended.

Two remain at large, but police believe they have one of them pinned down between the third and fourth floors of the facility located in Southeast Washington.

As officers from different districts in D.C. converged on the scene, it was reported that Reagan National Airport was holding all departing flights. It has since resumed normal operations.

Police on the scene reported that at least eight civilians were shot along with two police officers.

One of the officers is a D.C. Metro police, who was med evac and taken to a local hospital. The second officer worked on the grounds according to reports and was being treated on the triage unit set up at the scene. The civilians were also treated on the ground.

A Navy Yard employee who was able to communicate with the outside world at 10 am, said police are telling those at the building to hunker down and stay in place.

The US Navy states that three shots were fired at around 8:20 am at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters building, where about 3,000 people work.
