Joe Manganiello Confirms ‘Magic Mike 2’ Role Reprisal

Joe Manganiello is returning to his role as Big Dick Richie for Magic Mike 2.

The actor recently sat down with EnStars to talk about his returning role. According to Manganiello, “They are writing my character into the film, so I’ll be back for Magic Mike 2.

Talking at the McDonald’s New Mighty Wings event on Sunday night in New York, Manganiello added:

“I probably had the best time I’ve ever had in my life working on that movie.”

The movie is produced by Channing Tatum. The original Magic Mike movie was based on Tatum’s own stripper past. Tatum will also be directing Magic Mike 2.

Manganiello also talked to the TheHollywood Reporter:

“It will be a road trip movie, and it will essentially be the movie that everyone thought the first one was going to be — crazy and fun and less slice-of-life and less drama. The first one, we had to make not so cheesy and campy; this one we are going to swing for the fences.”

There is still no word if Matt Bomer, Alex Pettyfer, or Matthew McConaughey will return for the sequel.

Details about the sequel are sparse with the IMDB listing stating: “The continuing story of male stripper, Magic Mike.”

The original Magic Mike was a surprise hit thanks to a large female base who flocked to the movie.

In the meantime, Manganiello is still busy working on True Blood, and he has two movies in post-production, Knight of Cups and Sabotage. Joe also has a role in the movie Tumbledown, which is in pre-production.

Will you be heading out to see Magic Mike 2 because of Joe Manganiello’s role in the film?
