Miss Uzbekistan Mystery: Do You Know This Woman?

The Miss Uzbekistan mystery has been unfolding over the last few days after Rakhima Ganieva said she was representing her country in the upcoming Miss World competition in Indonesia later this month.

According to all accounts, this simply isn’t true. Uzbekistan, which is predominantly a Muslim country doesn’t even have a Miss Uzbekistan, nor does it send a representative to the competition.

Officials from both the Uzbekistan National Committee on Woman and the Uzbek Cultural and Sports Ministry haven’t even heard of her. Furthermore, the university at which she claims to have studied law has no record whatsoever of her existence.

All this reality hasn’t stopped Miss Ganieva from promoting herself. She was pictured sitting comfortably next to pop legend Sting at a fashion show in Tashkent recently. she also has a selfie of sorts taken alongside the stunning Miss Albania, which she posted to Facebook.

She even featured on the official Miss World website, with a picture and a caption which read: “I really want to win.”

Zhavlon Momolov, a representative from the Pro Models Modeling Agency in Tashkent, said about Miss Ganieva: “If there had been a process to choose a young lady for this competition, I can assure you that a much more beautiful model would have been chosen. I’m sorry that Ganieva is choosing to build a career on lies.”

It isn’t clear at this time how the young model made her way to the Miss World website, or how she ended up sitting so comfortably next to Sting at the Tashkent fashion show.

Do you think that the Miss Uzbekistan mystery should remain a mystery? Do you care that she is a phony? Or do you agree with many that she is so stunningly beautiful that she should be in the Miss World competition anyway? Share your thoughts in the feed below.
