Rapper Gucci Mane was arrested on Saturday morning on gun and drug charges, according to the Atlanta police force.
Just before 1 am on Saturday police received a call from a friend of the rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, who was “concerned about his behavior,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The police report noted than Davis became “increasingly agitated with officers and began cursing and threatening them,” during the arrest. The report continues that the rapper was discharged from an Atlanta hospital and then arrested for carrying a weapon, marijuana possession and disorderly conduct.
This is not the first time David has been arrested. Back in April, he was arrested for assault at a popular Atlanta nightclub. In that incident he was indicted for smashing a champagne bottle over a soldier’s head, even though he pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
In 2005, Davis was charged with murdering a rival rapper in DeKalb County, the charges for that one were later dropped.
It has not been a good year for Gucci Mane who has had a number of unfortunate altercations. Last week, he went on a Twitter rampage insulting a bunch of well known rappers. He also got dropped from his record label for bad behavior.
It remains to be seen what the outcome will be of Gucci Mane’s latest run in with the law. Having already had so many previous convictions as well as a criminal record, he could receive a more serious punishment and possibly even jail time.
