Prince George’s Nanny Watched Over William And Harry 20 Years Ago

Prince George is in capable hands, and we aren’t talking about his royal mommy and daddy. The newborn royal is being watched after by Jessie Webb, the former nanny to Prince William and Prince Harry.

Webb is said to be living with the family at their home in North Wales. Webb is also expected to join the Royal couple when they head to Scotland for a visit with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Webb, 71, took care of William more than 20 years ago and most recently worked for his cousin, Viscount Linley.

Sticking with a former nanny who has remained inside the royal family circle makes sense. She already knows protocol, and her experience means she is poised to take on the duties that call.

Webb was first hired by Princess Diana and Prince Charles to take care of Prince Harry and Prince William. Eventually she formed a strong bond with the boys as their parents faced marriage struggles and a very public divorce.

Even after giving up her care for the boys, she remained close. In fact, during Prince William’s 21st birthday celebration, Jessie Webb was in attendance. She was also a guest at the royal wedding two years ago.

Prince William and Kate started out with no additional help, but the plan was always to bring in a nanny at some point in the future. Rumors originally pointed to the couple as hiring someone other than Webb. It turns out that additional help may have been offered in the short-term and only during the first few trying weeks following the birth.

William has talked about having some sleepless nights, so perhaps now was the right time to bring in someone to help with little Prince George.

Do you think 71-years-old is pushing the age limit for a royal family nanny?
