‘One Direction: This Is Us’ Extended Cut Headed To Theaters

An extended version of One Direction: This is Us is on its way to theaters in the US.

The original cut of the flick was released into cinemas across North America on August 30. Although the motion picture has only been on the big screen for a few weeks, the folks at Sony Pictures believe it’s time to entice fans back into theaters.

One Direction: This Is Us – Extended Fan Cut is scheduled to invade cinemas on Friday (September 13). Sony Pictures is also giving fans of the boy band a chance to weigh in on which songs will be featured in the new version.

“We’re overwhelmed by the response to the film, so we’re thrilled to be able to release this extended cut of the film for One Direction fan,” Sony explained in a recent press release.

The company continued, “Followers can reach out on Twitter @1DThisIsUs with the songs they’d like to hear in the film – and go to the theater on Friday to see and hear which songs make the cut.”

Helmed by Super Size Me director Morgan Spurlock, One Direction: This is Us gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at one of the biggest pop groups on the planet. The $10 million documentary has already earned approximately $23 million in the United States alone.

However, the film has started to losing its foothold at the box office in recent days. In order to get people to spend even more money on One Direction, Sony Pictures is giving fans even more stuff to obsess over.

The new cut of This is Us will have over 20 minutes of extra footage and no less than four new songs not featured in the original release. If you have a One Direction fan in your family, prepare to return to theaters one more time.
