Marissa Mayer And Zachary Bogue Buy $35 Million Mansion In San Francisco

[UPDATE: Marissa Mayer has indicated on Twitter that she and Zachary Bogue did not buy the San Francisco mansion in question. Real estate records show that the deed was transferred to a company known as Bellihouse LLC in March, a group not connected to Mayer or Bogue. The Huffington Post has also retracted an article that broke news of the home purchase.]

Marissa Mayer and Zachary Bogue now own the most expensive home in San Francisco history.

The Yahoo CEO and her husband just picked up a historic mansion for $35 million, the most expensive purchase for a single-family home in the city’s history. The home is located on 2950 Broadway — a street known as Billionaire’s Row — and was designed by noted San Francisco architect Fredrick H. Meyer in 1921.

The mega-mansion is four stories high and has 6 bedrooms, 5 full baths, and 2 half-baths spread out across 11,000 square feet. The house also has five fireplaces, two kitchens, a wine cellar, and an elevator to move between floors.

It has a number of other amenities, including a heated outdoor pool, considered a rarity for San Francisco. And outside the home is a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Marissa Mayer and Zachary Bogue are considered one of the most powerful couples in Silicon Valley. Mayer started out at Google as the company’s 20th employee and first female engineer. When she took the job as CEO of Yahoo, Mayer became the youngest head of a Fortune 500 company.

Zachary Bogue is the co-managing partner at Data Collective, a venture capital firm that has funded some of the most important Big Data companies in Silicon Valley. He is also the co-founder of Montara Capital, a real estate investment company.

As their purchase of a $35 million mansion would indicate, Marissa Mayer and Zachary Bogue have no problem throwing their money around. When they got married in 2009 the couple booked The Killers as their wedding band, and Marissa even paid to have a nursery installed at her office.

Their new home puts Mayer and Bogue in some familiar company. Some of their neighbors on Billionaire’s Row include Oracle founder Larry Ellison and Zynga founder Mark Pincus.
