Nintendo 3DS pre-orders now available at GameStop

The Nintendo 3DS lacks a U.S. launch price and exact release date, but that hasn’t deterred GameStop from opening pre-orders for the handheld.

If you fancy securing yourself a 3DS early, a $25 or $50 deposit (different GameStops seem to be asking for slightly different amounts) should do the trick. Though Nintendo may be facing a new challenge in portable gaming from the likes of Apple, it’s still likely the 3DS will be in huuuuuge demand, so I’d advise you get those notes down.

For the record, Nintendo will be holding a media-only 3DS preview event on January 19th, where it’s expected to reveal solid launch details. Personally, I’m still banking on a $300 price tag, while Nintendo has confirmed a release date at some point in March. Once those beans are spilled, expect to see other retailers open up their pre-orders.
