Allison Micheletti: Mike Modano’s New Wife Is Pro Golfer, Former NHL Player’s Daughter
Allison Micheletti grew up watching Mike Modano play in the NHL, with her father calling his games in the announcer’s booth.
Now, the 24-year-old professional golfer is married to Modano after a whirlwind romance. The two were married Sunday at the Hotel Joule in Dallas, and afterward they jetted off to the island of St. Bart’s for a honeymoon.
The two started dating last year after Modano ended his five-year marriage to actress and model Willa Ford.
Ford and Modano had been married since 2007, and their split came as a surprise to many.
“It is with great sadness that after five years of marriage, Willa and Mike have decided to divorce,” the pair told People in a statement.
But Mike Modano didn’t stay single for long. Soon after the split he started dating Allison Micheletti, and their relationship moved along quickly.
Modano had quite a storied hockey career. He retired in 2011 as the highest-scoring American-born player in NHL history, with 561 goals and 1,374 points. He played 21 season for the Dallas Stars franchise, following the club after its relocation from Minnesota to Dallas. He also played one season for the Detroit Red Wings.
Throughout his career, Modano won a Stanley Cup and some of hockey’s biggest awards, including the Calder Memorial Trophy and Frank J. Selke Trophy.
Allison Micheletti may be familiar with Modano’s early career. When she was just a toddler, her father, former NHL player Joe Micheletti, was a color analyst for the Minnesota North Stars team that featured a young Modano.
Allison is quite an athlete herself. She is a professional golfer, one of the most successful contestants to come from the Golf Channel’s Big Break Atlantis.

Allison Micheletti will actually be making a return to the Golf Channel soon. She and Mike Modano will be featured on an episode of Big Break Celebrity Challenge, which airs on Monday.
