Rachel Zoe has officially confirmed that she is pregnant with her second child.
It was first reported that Zoe was expecting a new addition in June, but it wasn't until Tuesday that the 42-year-old fashion designer confirmed the news.
"Before we head into the chaos of fashion season, we wanted to take a moment to OFFICIALLY confirm that we are expecting another child," Zoe wrote on her website, The Zoe Report. "We are beyond excited for Skyler to have a sibling and for us to fall in love all over again. We feel incredibly blessed."
Zoe gave birth to her first child, Skyler Morrison, in March 2011. She caught a lot of flack on Instagram for sharing photos of her son with long hair. One commenter wrote, "I guess you wanted a daughter," and another wrote, "Cut his hair. He looks like a girl."
One poster defended Zoe, writing, "Gender is a social construct and I applaud @rachelzoe for not conforming to mainstream norms of what a 'boy' should look like."
Rachel Zoe admitted that she and her husband, Roger Berman, did not plan the first pregnancy, but said that it was "the best thing that [had] ever happened" to them. She also said that she would leave it up to fate whether they would have another child.
"If it is meant to be it will be, and if we are lucky enough to have another one, we will have another one," she said.
Rachel Zoe and Roger Berman met in 1991 when they were both attending college in Washington, D.C. They married in 1996.
In April, it was reported that The Rachel Zoe Project was heading for cancellation after five seasons. The series had been lagging in ratings, with viewership steadily declining with each episode. The fifth season premiered on March 6 to 0.85 million viewers, and the season finale on April 24 aired to 0.73 million viewers. Bravo said there was no truth to the rumors, but so far, no announcement has been made as to whether the series will return for a sixth season.
