Reports indicate the 19-year-old was the victim of an assault by a random, male clubgoer.

According to TMZ, during his visit to a Toronto nightclub Justin left the VIP section at around 3 am to interact with other patrons.

The website reports sources at the nightclub said a male clubgoer charged at Bieber, grabbed his shirt and attempted to wrestle the pop star to the ground.

At that point, Bieber’s bodyguards rushed the unidentified attacker and successfully pulled him off before tackling him to the floor.

The assailant was then escorted out of the club, while the singer and his crew left soon after. The police were not called and it’s not known if Team Bieber intend to file charges against the man.

Pictures of the attack show Bieber being held back by his security team, and sources told the site Justin attempted to defend himself during the incident getting in a few hefty kicks.

Elsewhere, the name of the club involved is speculated as either the Everleigh or Uniun. The teen star and his entourage attended both between Friday night into Saturday morning.

Hours before the attack, Bieber teased his fans about his location by posting a question on his Twitter account on August 30, asking, “Where am I?”

He later tweeted another message, writing: “Remember where you came from (sic)…,” featuring a link to an Instagram of himself sitting outside the steps of the Avon Theater in Stratford, Ontario, where he busked as a child before going on to find international fame in 2008/9.

Bieber’s history with nightclubs over the last few months has been a fraught one.

Among the slew of police investigations and alleged incidents involving the teen singer and his security team, the most recent saw the heartthrob and his bodyguards accused of assaulting a male clubgoer in the Hamptons South Pointe nightclub in New York earlier this month.

As well as an ongoing police investigation into the case, the alleged victim — Wayne Rennalls — is suing the singer and his bodyguards in a personal injury lawsuit.

In the early hours of July 30, Justin and his entourage were denied entry to the Griffin Nightclub in the Meatpacking District of New York City on the basis of the singer’s underage status, Daily Mail Online reports.

The pop star and his entourage then reportedly attended a nearby club called Catch shortly afterwards.

On July 13, Bieber was allegedly involved in an assault of an Ohio-based deejay in a Columbus, Ohio nightclub. The star is accused of spitting and swearing at the deejay after an alleged dispute over the man’s alleged attempt to take snaps of the singer. Charges are yet to be filed.

Justin attended Chicago nightclub Bodi in the early hours of July 10 after performing a show at the city’s United Center Arena the night before. The club was subsequently cited by police for allowing underage patrons onto its premises.

On June 18, Bieber was accused of a hit-and-run of a paparazzo outside the Laugh Factory comedy club in West Hollywood, after he hit a photographer with his white Ferrari during a chaotic exit amid a paparazzi scrum.

Los Angeles law enforcement authorities eventually cleared the singer of all wrongdoing after the case was reviewed twice. Prosecutors said there was “insufficient evidence to prove that Bieber knowingly left the scene of a collision in which someone was injured.”

E! News reported Bieber was escorted out of Hollywood’s Lure nightclub on June 9 because of the club’s over-21 door policy.

Multiple reports of this latest nightclub incident indicate Bieber was the victim of an unprovoked attack.
