Jon Gosselin Being Sued By Ex-Wife Kate For ‘Invasion Of Privacy’

Jon Gosselin, America’s favorite reality TV personality, is being sued by his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin. She is accusing him of hacking her phone and computer in order to obtain material for his upcoming book, Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World..

The book was commissioned by Jon and written by Robert Hoffman, Jon Gosselin’s business partner, and, conveniently, a tabloid writer. The book was removed from stores after only two days as the information contained inside it was “illegally obtained”.

According to the Associated Press, Jon accessed Kate’s emails and bank account details from her hard drive. The lawsuit, according to Gosselin’s lawyer, maintains that: “Jon violated a federal anti-hacking statute in order to publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information about Kate. It’s damaged her reputation.”

The lawsuit continues: “This demonstrates his knowledge that the materials were obtained illegally, as it is a sign of an attempt to cover up his unlawful activities. The materials in his possession could not possibly be physically found in paper format to that extend. If Hoffman was picking through trash on the street, he did not find this trove of personal information while engaging in his trash-picking endeavors.”

Jon is also accused in the lawsuit of wiretapping, identity theft and invasion of privacy. At the time of this writing neither Jon Gosselin nor his partner Robert Hoffman were available for comment.

The famous TV couple began in reality TV in their show, Jon & Kate plus 8, which followed their daily lives and their struggle to raise eight children, including twins and sextuplets. Kate and Jon Gosselin separated in 2009. Later, the couple divorced.
