Erin Wasson Tries To Upstage Miley Cyrus With See-Through Dress At 2013 MTV VMAs

Erin Wasson is giving Miley Cyrus a run for her money.

The 31-year-old actress showed up to the MTV Video Music Awards in a dress that wasn’t really a dress at all, but instead a sheer fabric that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. She wore the sheer sheath over a bikini top and bottoms, adding a turban and open-toed heels to the look.

Wasson was able to steal headlines from some of the show’s other brazen young stars, mainly Miley Cyrus.

Miley appeared on stage while Robin Thicke performed his hit song “Blurred Lines.” As he sang, Miley twerked on stage wearing nothing but a bra and nude underwear, grinding against the much older singer to the confusion and horror of the crowd.

The performance earned Miley quite a bit of scorn on Twitter during and after the VMAs. Viewers and celebrities attacked her for the raunchy performance,

“Thanks Miley Cyrus. Now I have to explain to my 11 yr old daughter why she no longer can follow your career,” tweeted country singer Josh Gracin.

While Miley Cyrus earned worst (and least) dressed honors for her stunt, Erin Wasson wasn’t far behind. The Newark Star-Ledger added her to the worst-dressed list, saying Erin “apparently rolled around in some sheer netting and then called it a day.

Erin Wasson may have made a splash at the 2013 MTV VMAs, but her fashion statement pales in comparison to efforts from other stars. In 2010, singer Lady Gaga showed up wearing a dress made entirely out of raw meat. Back in 1998 actress Rose McGowan wore a dress of metal chain that left her entire backside exposed, and the following year Lil Kim wore a jumpsuit that left her entire breast exposed.
