‘Expendables’ Spin-Off Adds ‘You’re Next’ Star Sharni Vinson

The all-female Expendables spin-off that’s coming together at Lionsgate has reportedly added You’re Next star Sharni Vinson to the cast.

Although she may not be a household name just yet, the actress has received rave reviews for her turn in director Adam Wingard’s horror flick. Once audiences finally get to see Vinson in action, chances are they’ll understand why she landed a role in the spin-off.

Fans of the franchise who are disappointed by the lack of girl power in The Expendables 3 still have an all-female version lurking just around the corner. It’s believed that work on a script for the project is currently underway.

Sharni Vinson isn’t the only actress who is slated to appear in the Expendables spin-off. Katee Sackhoff and Haywire star Gina Carano are also reportedly attached to star in the action flick. There are still plenty of butt-kicking ladies who would be a perfect fit for the feature.

One person who should be at the top of the list for the project is Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich. Early Expendables 3 reports suggested that the actress was being courted for a role in the film. However, her name was missing from the list producer Boaz Davidson recently posted on Facebook.

If producers are looking for suggestions, the internet has quite a few names they’re willing to toss into the mix. Michelle Yeoh, Bai Ling, Lucy Liu, Uma Thurman, Sigourney Weaver, and Cynthia Rothrock are just a few of the actresses folks would love to see in the spin-off.

While they’re waiting for more casting details to surface, Expendables fans can obsess over the next installment of the franchise. The Expendables 3 began filming in Bulgaria earlier this week. A handful of images from the set can be found embedded below.

It’s unclear when the folks at Lionsgate hope to have the Expendables spin-off in the can and ready to go. The Expendables 3 arrives next summer.
