The Hobbit fans got a brand new trailer for the second installment in Peter Jackson’s trilogy, The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug in June. Now a version of that trailer has hit the Internet, but it’s a bit unusual. It’s made with LEGOs!
The amazing video recreates the original trailer. complete with music and subtitles, step by step in a magnificent rendition.
The Hobbit author, J.R.R. Tolkien followers are known for their dedication to anything and everything related to his work, but this video tops what we have seen in the past.
If you love LEGOs and are a fan of Tolkien’s The Hobbit, then you are in paradise and will probably spend hours examining each frame to see how the trailer was recreated.
The trailer is the work of the Brotherhood Workshop, a self-described dedicated group of “quirky artists” who said that the video took two months and many countless man hours to complete. They hope to, someday, make their own movies.
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug LEGO trailer is one of the most adorable things you will ever see, even if you are not a fan of either.
Part 2 of the trilogy picks up where The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey left off. The company of dwarves, lead by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), leave on a dangerous journey to reclaim what has been taken from them by the wicked dragon Smaug (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch) with the help of the hobbit (Martin Freeman).
The Brotherhood Worskshop went through the painstaking process of creating the titles on LEGOs and provided a side by side comparison of the two videos, just so you can see how good this really is.
The project, which ended with the trailer for the film, is chronicled from start to finish on their Facebook page. It is really worth your while to take a look.
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug comes to theaters on December 13. We might see more LEGO recreations from the Brotherhood Workshop.
