Creation Museum Worker Struck By Lightning [Video]

A Creation Museum worker was struck by lightning around 1 PM on Wednesday at the Boone County, Kentucky museum site. The unnamed young man in his twenties was assisting a guest on the attraction’s zipline when he was zapped by the thunderbolt so fast that he couldn’t really react.

Check out the video report to see what the zipline set-up at the Creation Museum looks like. There are 23 lines and 10 skybridges that allow visitors to enjoy a sweeping overview of the grounds.

According to Fox 19, the Creation Museum worker was actually holding the zipline when the lightning struck. Co-founder and vice-president Mike Zovath said that the pop-up storm hit quickly:

“We were in the process of [shutting down the zipline for] bad weather, but it just got here a lot faster than we were able to respond to.”

WHIO TV said the victim didn’t lose consciousness. But he complained of tingling in the fingers.

According to WKYT, the injured Creation Museum worker ended up being taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky to make sure he would be OK.

The zipline had to be closed in the aftermath of the accident. However, from the sound of it, the museum was already trying to shut down the rides when the storms popped up.

As you’ll see if you watch the video report, the thunderbolt victim is calling himself very, very lucky.

The zipline attraction first opened at the Creation Museum in mid-June. Apparently, it was added to create new incentive for visitors to check out the Bible-themed park neared Petersburg, Kentucky.

Needless to say, the incident is getting passed around on Facebook. Some people can’t resist the delicious irony of a Creation Museum worker getting hit by lightning. You know who you are.
