Lionsgate has released a new banner for their mega anticipated sequel Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
On Wednesday morning, the studio launched the “Victors Banner” campaign for the film on TheHungerGamesExplorer.com website.
The first banner released includes victors Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), and it also shows a countdown clock to the next reveal.
Lionsgate is encouraging fans to head to social media using the hashtag #victorsrevealed and guess who might be next in appearing in one of the banners.
The film is the sequel to the sci-fi drama Hunger Games based on the novel Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, which is the second installment in the trilogy.
Even before the release of the original Hunger Games, Lionsgate gave the green light for Catching Fire.
It was expected that the director of the first film, Gary Ross, would return to his role on this installment, however that was not to be.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence.
The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, and Willow Shields.
The pair becomes the target of the Capitol after a rebellion, inspired by their victory, threatens to change Panem forever. In the first film we see how “Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister’s place in the Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to compete.”
Catching Fire picks up the story when, after winning the 74th hunger games, Katniss Everdeen returns home to District 12 with fellow winner Peeta Mellark.
Some new additions to the cast include Jenna Malone, Amanda Plummer, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Sam Claflin.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters on November 22.
