Marg Helgenberger Is ‘Very Excited’ To Rejoin CSI Cast For 300th Episode

Marg Helgenberger will be reprising her role as Catherine Willows for the 300th episode of CSI.

Helgenberger, who was an original cast member nearly 14 years ago, will rejoin the show on October 23.

Executive producer Don McGill said: “We were just really excited to have Marg come back because, obviously, she’s such an important part of the history of CSI… And she was super excited. It was kismet!”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Helgernberger’s character Catherine Willows will join the CSI crew to solve a cold case that “has haunted them for 14 years.

McGill said: (The episode) takes our characters back to the beginning. They have to investigate a murder with the same M.O. and the same suspect from 14 years ago.”

McGill told TV Guide that Willows character will appear in a few flashbacks before joining the cast at present day.

The producer said: “We will flash back 14 years to seminal moments that show Catherine, Nick, Sara, Greg and Ecklie as they were, [and how that] informed the evolution of the characters now. It’s going to be a really fun episode, very emotional, that honors 14 years of CSI.”

Marg Helgenberger starred on CSI for the show’s first 12 seasons. She left midway through the 12th season and is now working on Intelligence with Lost’s Josh Holloway.
