In November 2010, Andrea’s husband Rusty was shot and killed. Rusty was standing outside a daycare attended by one of the couple’s children.

As reported by NBC News, Andrea’s employer, Hemy Neuman was arrested and convicted of Rusty’s murder. In 2012, Andrea was arrested for impeding the investigation.

Andrea Sneiderman and Neuman were reportedly having an affair. Andrea is accused of lying to authorities during the investigation into her husband’s death.

Prosecutors suggested that Andrea was attempting to cover up Neuman’s involvement, and their affair. Andrea was further accused of direct involvement in planning her husband’s murder. However, the charges were eventually dropped.

Andrea’s defense contends that she was a victim of Neuman’s twisted mind.

Neuman was convicted in Rusty’s murder. The official verdict was guilty, but mentally ill. Neuman was sentenced to life in prison.

Andrea plead for leniency. She stated that the wanted to “go home to her kids,” as she does not want them to “live without their mother.”

Prosecutors asked for a maximum of 20 years. DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James Adams opted for a compromise.

Andrea will serve her sentence concurrently. She will be out of prison in five years.

Andrea states that she regrets her involvement with Neuman. She explains that she “never thought [he] was capable of murder.”

Discussing their relationship, Andrea denies romantic involvement:

“The line of appropriate conduct was blurred… I thought I could handle him. I thought he was a man just being a man.”

Andrea Sneiderman has denied any prior knowledge of, or involvement in, her husband’s death. As the details of the case are bizarre, the real story will likely remain a mystery.
