Kym Johnson Leaving DWTS

Kym Johnson is leaving Dancing With The Stars.

Johnson, who has been doing the tango on DWTS for 14 seasons, announced this week that she would be leaving the show. Johnson says that this is only a temporary break and that she will be back by season 18.

Johnson said:

“I will be taking the next season off from DWTS USA, so that I may accept an amazing work opportunity back home in Australia. I am excited, nervous and humbled by this chance and look forward to sharing more about it with you soon. I wish all the dancers and celebrities in season 17 nothing but love and success and hope to see you all back on the dance floor for season 18.”

Johnson didn’t elaborate on the “amazing opportunity” but fans of Dancing With The Stars should be happy to know that the two time Mirror Ball champion will only be gone for one season.

Are you sad that Kym Johnson is leaving DWTS?

ABC hasn’t announced the cast for the new season yet but Tom Bergeron did give a little hint last week. Bergeron said that nothing has been finalized yet but that some of the casting rumors going around are true.

For those of you who aren’t up to date on your Dancing With The Stars news, Paula Deen, Lindsey Lohan and Geraldo Rivera have all been approached to strap on their dancing shoes this year.
