‘Community’ Fans Gather To Fund CommuniCon2

These are rough times for fans of the NBC sitcom Community. After a truly horrendous last season, things were looking on the up and up once creator and writer Dan Harmon was rehired. Then it was announced that fan favorite Donald Glover would only be in a select few episodes of what’s assumed to be the last season of the show.

However, that doesn’t mean the fans can’t band together to have a good time. That’s where CommuniCon 2 comes in. Fans of Community started a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the convention that they hope to throw from February 9 to February 10.

According to the Kickstarter page, the event will take place in Los Angeles. The event will include a writer’s panel moderated by Meg Masters of TV Line, a supporting actors’ panel moderated by Eric Goldman of IGN TV, and a trivia contest moderated by a writer from The Examiner, and more.

The best event planned is a Q&A session by creator Dan Harmon and Yvette Nicole Brown and Gillian Jacobs.

If this event is fully funded it will be go towards the venue, the production of the film documenting the event, putting together the event, and rewards.

So far the rewards range from $25 DVD up to $1000 to the lucky person who gets to co-moderate the panel. Other cool rewards include a Special Thanks shout out in the DVD, a front row seat to all of the panels, a T-shirt, admission to the convention and other goodies.

Community is an NBC sitcom created by Dan Harmon and has run for four seasons due to it being the underdog in ratings. Over the years numerous campaigns have been started to stop the network from cancelling the show. Fan favorite Donald Glover has somewhat moved on with his own sitcom on FX.
