Backstreet Boys Rock America’s Got Talent

The Backstreet Boys are still the biggest selling boy band ever, even though they’re most definitely no longer boys by any definition of the word.

And now the the Backstreet Boys are back for their (get ready to feel old) twentieth anniversary.

Yes, it’s been 20 years since the Backstreet Boys came on scene — but with a surprise summer blockbuster cameo (in heaven, no less), the BSB are back in pop culture and touring and promoting like it’s 1995.

Interestingly, the Backstreet Boys new album did pretty decently, reaching number five on Billboard’s Top 200 upon its release. The BSB are embarking on a world tour, selling out huge venues in multiple countries, and charting with their new song “In a World Like This.”

Last night on America’s Got Talent, the aging “boys” stopped by to greet the hopefuls with a rendition of “A World Like This,” but it wouldn’t be a BSB appearance without a performance of “I Want It That Way.”

The band still has some pretty enthusiastic fans — after they were shut down in Chicago recently, Twitter users complained:

“They didn’t let the Backstreet Boys finish their concert. That’s right — I got kicked out of a venue because of an 11 pm curfew on a Friday.”

Another said:

“Whoever decided it was a good idea to cut off the Backstreet Boys concert at 11 pm noise curfew can rot in hell for all eternity.”

In addition to the Backstreet Boys, other acts performing on America’s Got Talent included 3Penny Chorus and Orchestra, Aerial Ice, Cami Bradley, Champions Forever, Chloe Channell, David Ferman, Jimmy Rose, SensEtion, Taylor Williamson, The Robotix, Timber Brown, and Tummy Talk.
