New Mom Poppy Montgomery Not Allowed To Change Diapers

Actress Poppy Montgomery, 38, became a mom to daughter Violet in April. But, unlike many freshly minted parents, the star doesn’t have to do diaper duty.

Changing diapers is basically the worst, and Poppy Montgomery devised a novel solution to avoid the seemingly unavoidable parental chore.

According to Poppy, she gave it her best — but she’s just not good at diapering the baby.

Speaking to OMG, Montgomery says that everyone else decided it’s best is Violet’s diapers are changed by others after some unfortunate missteps:

“I am banned from diaper duty… I’ve tried, but they keep me away from it.”

Montgomery continues, explaining why she’s been axed from diapering the little girl:

“My magic trick was that I’d just put them on really loosely. I personally don’t like tight things, so when I’d see the diaper done up tightly on the baby, I was like, ‘Ouch, that mustn’t feel comfortable,’ and then put it on much looser.”

If you’re a parent, you know what happens next, and Poppy confirms:

“Well then of course they leak, don’t they? [wink]… She poos, it leaks and comes out the back. So I’ve been banned.”

Poppy says she still has a lot to keep her busy, like working off the last “16 pounds,” from her pregnancy.

Breastfeeding helps, and she adds:

“I am doing it all. I’m like a dairy. I am always attached to something. A baby, a pump, a mic. It’s wild and it’s intense… but I really couldn’t ask for anything more.”
