Abby Lee Miller Wants ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Spot … As A Contestant

Dance Moms standout Abby Lee Miller said that she’s open to appearing on Dancing With the Stars, but as a contestant, not an instructor.

“I would love to be on it, maybe I’ll just talk to those producers about another show, who knows?” she said in an interview with Access Hollywood.

“I just was never into performing. It’s just hard work. It’s hard work… I like to choreograph and create and design the costumes and do it all and then step back and watch it and then move on to the next project.”

Miller has made a name for herself on Dance Moms as a talented yet outspoken dance instructor. Her methods have received some criticism, and that’s the main reason she was talking with Access Hollywood in the first place.

DWTS pros Derek Hough and Mark Ballas have been highly critical of Miller recently.

“Some of the Dancing with the Stars dancers talked a little smack about Dance Moms,” she said, though she did not name Derek and Mark.

“When it first started they thought, ‘She’s so mean,'” she said of her critics. But, “I’m not giving that little skinny blond guy any more credit,” she said, laughing.

Back in July 2012, Derek Hough tweeted disparagingly about Dance Moms, explaining that he was “livid” over what amounted to “child abuse” in his mind.

Mark agreed, calling the show “abusive,” and even calling out Miller. “I don’t want young children being afraid to take up dance because of this lady,” he said.

Do you think that Abby Lee Miller would be able to keep up as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars?
