Taylor Swift’s Biggest Fear? Googling Herself

Contrary to her lyrical material, Taylor Swift’s biggest fear isn’t dying alone.

It’s Googling herself.

Okay, so that’s only No. 2 on her list of things she’s most afraid of, but it’s by far the most interesting on the list. For Marie Claire’s “What’s On” questionnaire, the 23-year-old songstress lists the following as her greatest fears:

1. Sea urchins 2. Googling myself 3. Earwigs 4. Cynics 5. Getting arrested

Earwigs, we get. Getting arrested, okay. But Googling herself? That being one of Swift’s biggest fears seems to suggest she knows she might be doing something wrong by turning all of her ex-boyfriends into No. 1 hits, but we really think that Taylor would be surprised by her search engine results.

Though a quick cursory glance at Google results for “Taylor Swift” does indeed show news articles related to her dating life rather than her music, we’re hard-pressed to think of anyone whose editorial coverage of the “Red” singer goes out of its way to make fun of or insult her.

Additionally, you have to be really specific to get anything inappropriate, like Swift’s head being Photoshopped onto some porn star’s body.

But Swift has talked about her fear of Google search results before.

“I don’t have thick skin. If somebody says something mean, it will hurt my feelings. Anything bad that I read about myself, I’m just like … [fakes sobbing],” she told CMT in 2011.

“No, you can’t Google yourself or your self esteem will just go like that,” she continued.

But if she does know what she’s up to with her songs, at least she’s proud of it.

“Every one of my regrets has produced a song I’m proud of,” she also said.
