Katy Perry’s Promotional Semi Hit By Drunk Driver

The semi truck commissioned by Katy Perry to promote her upcoming album, Prism, was hit by a drunk driver on Friday while parked in a WalMart parking lot.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the wreck, which was initially called a hit-and-run after the drunk driver initially fled the scene.

The truck, painted in gold, was being used by Katy Perry to promote her new album Prism, which is due out October 22, according to The Daily Mail.

But it seems the promotional big rig will be out of commission for a while, as the accident heavily damaged the semi’s cab. The rig was on a tour of the country when it stopped in Pennsylvania on Friday.

Perry initially tweeted about the semi traveling the country, writing, “Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I’ll RT you. Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map.”

Since then, fans of the Firework singer have spotted the golden semi in Tennessee, Cleveland, Kansas, Colorado, and most recently (before the accident) at Niagara Falls.

Perry also commented on the accident, saying, “THE #PRISM SEMI IS BUMPED & BRUISED BUT SHE IS A CHAMPION! SHE WILL RETURN…”

The accident involving Katy Perry’s gold semi happened around 5 pm local time. Photos of the damage were posted by TMZ, showing the golden truck in a parking lots with its doors open and its front bumper ripped off.

The gossip site was quick to assure that Katy wasn’t in the truck when the accident happened and the driver of the truck was inside WalMart at the time. The driver of the other truck initially left, but returned to the parking lot soon after. He was arrested for drunk driving.

While it’s clear from the photo that Katy Perry’s gold semi suffered damage, we’re sure her baby will be back up and running to continue its promotion of her upcoming album.
