Sandlot Actor Arrested: Thomas ‘Smalls’ Guiry Mugshot Released

Thomas Guiry, the actor who played Smalls in the movie The Sandlot, was recently arrested for headbutting a police officer.

According to WTVR, the Sandlot actor was arrested last week at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport. Guiry was reportedly too drunk to board the plane and then got into an altercation with one of the security guards.

The airline called the police to help deal with the disgruntled actor. Houston Police spokesman John Cannon said that the officers were planning on taking him to a sobering center but Guiry refused to cooperate.

The actor reportedly threatened the officers and eventually became violent. Cannon said that Sandlot actor tried to kick one of the officers and successfully headbutted another one.

Guiry, 31, is now facing felony charges of assault against a public servant.

Guiry is best known for playing Smalls in the movie The Sandlot. (The cast recently had a reunion but Guiry was a no-show.) He’s also appeared in movies like Lassie and The Last Home Run. Guiry was never able to duplicate the success of The Sandlot but he has had a steady acting career. His latest gig came this year in the show Elementary.
