Motorhead Show Cut Short Due To Health Concerns

Motorhead was reportedly forced to cut a recent concert short due to health concerns involving legendary frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

The rock outfit was performing a set at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany on Friday. Although the band started out loud and hard, the show was ultimately cut short after Lemmy suffered some sort of health problem.

Details about the frontman’s condition aren’t available at the time of this writing. Motorhead hasn’t made an official announcement regarding the cancellation either.

According to the folks at Loudwire, Lemmy didn’t look very well when he took the stage on Friday. He also reportedly took long breaks in-between songs. Rumors suggest that he may have collapsed at some point after the sixth tune. An ambulance was spotted leaving the festival, though it’s unclear if Lemmy was inside.

“I’ve been ill recently — I’ve come onstage to play some rock ‘n’ roll and f*** myself even more,” he said before the Motorhead set began.

MetalTalk.net explains that German rocker and former Warlock frontwoman Doro Pesch said that Lemmy was doing “just fine.” However, the singer didn’t return to complete his set. His current condition is presently unknown.

This isn’t the first time the Motorhead frontman has suffered some health problems. The band was forced to cancel several dates earlier this year after Kilmister suffered a hematoma. He was also fitted with a defibrillator in order to treatment his heart condition.

After fans began to wonder about the fate of Motorhead, the band issued a statement about Lemmy’s health. According to the group, the guy is going to keep rocking for as long as his body will allow.

The band explained:

We are happy to announce that despite rumors to the contrary, Lemmy is alive, breathing, talking, f******, drinking, eating, reading and will be back to playing shows shortly. As reported, he did undergo a Motor-pit-stop for some medical maintenance this past spring, and the timing of his recent illness was unfortunate in that it came so soon after that.

Here’s hoping Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister makes a speedy recovery.
