Jayne Mansfield’s Car Gets A New Trailer [Video]

Jayne Mansfield’s Car hit the festival circuit last year but it still hasn’t quite made it to theaters. A new trailer for the movie, which was directed by Billy Bob Thornton, was released today ahead of its August 20 release.

According to Indie Wire, the movie will hit VOD on August 20. It will also get a short theatrical run at limited theaters starting on September 13.

The fact that Jayne Mansfield’s Car isn’t getting a wide release may leave some people skeptical of Thornton’s new movie but the ensemble cast could still draw people to theaters.

The new movie stars Kevin Bacon, Robert Duvall, Billy Bob Thornton, Frances O’Connor, John Hurt, Tippi Hedren and Robert Patrick.

The movie centers around two families who are brought together by the death of the matriarch. After Jayne Mansfield dies in a car crash, her American family and her English family must get together in the funeral.
