Randy Orton Attacked By Fan At WWE Event [Video]

Randy Orton was attacked by a fan last night at a WWE event in South Africa.

Orton was standing on the ropes celebrating his victory when a fan jumped up into the ring and then attacked Orton. The fan punched the wrestler in the groin before he was restrained by security officials.

A video of the event has been posted to YouTube.

The WWE writes on its website that the fan was detained by South African police and is currently being held at a local jail. It’s unclear what charges the man will face.

The WWE writes: “WWE.com has learned that Randy Orton was violently attacked by an audience member during a SmackDown World Tour Live Event in Cape Town, South Africa, this evening. Footage of the attack was captured by a WWE fan and posted to YouTube, and shows the perpetrator striking Orton from behind. The matter is currently under investigation by the local authorities, and the South African fan is being held in jail pending criminal charges. The extent of Orton’s injuries are unknown at this time.”

Randy Orton was attacked by a fan last night and the unidentified man should consider himself lucky that he was detained by security before the wrestler got to him. Orton didn’t look to phased by the attack and was ready to have a real wrestling match inside the ring. Seriously, did that guy have a death wish?

Here’s a video of the incident.
