Graco initiates stroller recall after four reported infant deaths

The popular Graco brand of strollers has announced a recall after a strangulation hazard was discovered in some of the brand’s strollers and travel systems.

The recall was jointly announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Graco and affects two million strollers manufactured before 2007. The reported deaths occurred between 2003 and 2005, and it is not clear why the recall came so long after the incidents. In addition to the deaths linked to the strollers, six additional reports of injury have been associated with the models.

CBS listed the strollers encompassed by the recall, mainly Graco Quattro Tour strollers and travel systems made before November 2006 and MetroLite(TM) strollers and travel systems manufactured before July of 2007.
