‘Happy Days’ dad Tom Bosley dies at 83

Tom Bosley, who is probably known best for his role as Mr. Cunningham on Happy Days, has died of lung cancer at the age of 83.

Bosley died this morning at a Palm Springs, California hospital. Although Happy Days is Bosley’s most high-profile role, NPR compiled an extensive list of some of his work:

Tom Bosley, who died today at 83, appeared on episodes of Car 54, Where Are You?, Route 66, Dr. Kildare, Ben Casey, Get Smart, Marcus Welby, Bonanza, Bewitched, Mission: Impossible, Maude, and McMillan & Wife. Those were all before Happy Days. After Happy Days, there was a role on Murder She Wrote, and there were episodes of Hotel, The Love Boat, The Drew Carey Show, ER … even Family Guy. And that’s just the TV career, and it’s only part of it.

Bosley worked up until recently, with Family Guy and the recent Jennifer Lopez film The Back Up Plan among his later credits. Plans for a funeral service or memorial have not yet been announced.
