Angelina Jolie Is Hollywood’s Highest-Paid Actress

Angelina Jolie is currently Hollywood’s highest-paid actress.

Although the Mr. and Mrs. Smith star doesn’t churn out movies like she did in the past, that doesn’t stop her from commanding a hefty paycheck. According to the folks at Forbes, the actress earned approximately $33 million last year.

“Hollywood hasn’t shied away from Jolie. She’s still one of the few actresses who can demand a paycheck north of $15 million for the right movie — like Disney’s retelling of the old Sleeping Beauty story, Maleficent,” the publication explained.

Internet Movie Database claims Angelina Jolie is attached to two other projects. The actress is expected to lend her voice to the upcoming animated sequel Kung Fu Panda 3. She’s also rumored to reprise her role as Evelyn Salt in the aptly-titled Salt 2.

Kristen Stewart, the star of the popular Twilight series, topped the publication’s list last time around. However, she was bumped to the third place position thanks to the sudden popularity of Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.

The Louisville, Kentucky native reportedly brought home $26 million last year alone. This was enough to secure second place in Forbes’ annual list. Considering the number of projects the young actress has lined up, that number is only going to get bigger over the course of 2013.

Kristen Stewart’s star slipped a little bit over the course of 2012. However, you shouldn’t start feeling sorry for the actress just yet. Although she was knocked out of the top spot, she still managed to bring home a cool $22 million. There’s nothing wrong with that total at all.

Rounding out the top five are Jennifer Aniston ($20 million) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Emma Stone ($16 million). When you add up all of their earnings, you get a grand total of $117 million. However, Hollywood’s top five male actors earned a total of $308 million last year.
