Carly Simon And Taylor Swift Team Up For Ex-Love Revenge Song

If you want to be the queen of crafting the perfect break up song, odds are you might want to get the originator to help you out. That’s exactly what Taylor Swift did when she teamed up with the “You’re So Vain” singer Carly Simon.

On Saturday Carly Simon joined Swift during her concert in Massachusetts for a very special duet of the infamous song “You’re So Vain.”

During the set, Swift announced Carly Simon by telling the audience at Gillette Stadium: “I think a lot of you have probably had this question too, always wondered what the answer is. Who is this song, ‘You’re So Vain’ by Carly Simon, written about?”

Although Simon never answered Taylor’s question, the singer did join Swift on stage for the duet.

Taylor Swift has had her fair share of breakup burns that she’s turned into top charting hits. In the past Swift has stated that she has written songs about all of her ex-boyfriends and that her lost loves have been a key inspiration for her music.

Here’s a run down of Taylor Swift’s songs to boyfriends:

The song “Tim McGraw” is about her ex-boyfriend Brandon Borello.

The song “Last Kiss” is about Joe Jonas, who reportedly broke up with her over the phone.

The song “Back to December” is said to be about her boyfriend Taylor Lautner. This song is out of character for Swift as it’s an apology to the actor.

The songs “Dear John” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” were about her rumored ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

Her most famous breakup albeit her shortest relationship was with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Gyllenhaal must have left some impression on her, as “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” “State of Grace” “All Too Well” “Girl at Home” and “The Moment I Knew” are all said to be about the Brokeback Mountain star.

This isn’t the first time Simon has collaborated with a newer generation on that particular song. Years back the singer’s vocals were used on a remake by pop star Janet Jackson.
