‘Rise Of The Triad’ Trailer Introduces Modern K-9 Warfare [Video]

With the release of Rise of the Triad just days away, the folks at Apogee Software and Interceptor Entertainment have released another trailer online.

Fans of the original game may fondly remember Dog Mode, a very unusual feature that briefly transformed your character into an unstoppable canine. Running snout-first into your heavily-armed enemies immediately turned them into a puddle of squishy gore.

Since Interceptor Entertainment is doing everything they can to appeal to those of us who played the game during the 90s, the team is incorporating this feature into the upcoming remake. The latest trailer for the game is positioned directly above this article.

Judging from the previously-released clips for the upcoming shooter, Rise of the Triad is going to be pretty hardcore. The original title wasn’t the easiest game on the planet and required quite a bit of skill during later levels. All of this appears to be present and accounted for in the reboot.

Fortunately, PC owners won’t have to wait very long to get their hands on a copy of the game. Apogee Software and Interceptor Entertainment will unleash the title upon the masses on July 31. For those without a calendar handy, that’s this Wednesday.

Players can choose between five different members of H.U.N.T. (High-Risk United Nations Taskforce), a team of highly-skilled agents charged with bringing an end to evil. Over 20 levels of insane carnage and over-the-top action await those with the reflexes to decimate their foes.

In addition to a 20-level single player campaign, Rise of the Triad promises a robust multiplayer mode. When you’re finished with all of that, you can create your own missions with the level editor. If you pre-order the title right now, it’s only going to cost you $14.99 on Steam. That’s not a bad deal at all.

Are you planning to snag a copy of Rise of the Triad when it arrives on July 31?
