Britney Spears Teases New Album On Twitter
Britney Spears wants you to know that she’s still working on her next album.
In case you haven’t heard, the pop star is hard at work on another batch of songs. In fact, Billboard believes it’s the most highly-anticipated “event” of 2013. Although she’s been working on the album for a while now, Spears recently gave fans a quick update on Twitter.
According to the singer, the next collection of tunes will be a “piece of me,” an obvious reference to the song found on her 2007 album Blackout. Judging from her recent comments, the new album will definitely be very personal.
“Really excited to give you a taste of my new album. Can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on. Going to be my most personal album ever,” Spears wrote earlier this month.
Although the subjects tackled on her upcoming album will deal with things the singer is dealing with in her life at the moment, Britney Spears won’t be going it alone. The former X Factor judge has tapped Diamonds songwriter Sia to help out with one of the tracks.
Britney Spears will head back into the studio next week to continue work on the album. However, the singer took a little break this weekend to attend the premiere of The Smurfs 2 with her sons. The pop star remarked that the first entry in the franchise is currently their favorite movie.
“I know two little guys that are super excited for July 28th!” she wrote on Twitter.
Spears also has a vested interest in the sequel. The singer provided the track Ooh La La for the Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Her sons even make a cameo in the music video for the tune.
Despite all of this talk of a new album, it’s currently unknown when fans will be able to purchase the new songs. A release date has not been set as of this writing.
