TLC Biopic CrazySexyCool Footage Released [Video]

Remember when TLC went on a nationwide search to replace the late-rapper Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes? If you don’t remember it, we can’t really blame you. We turned a blind eye to the reality show and chalked it up to tough financial problems for the remaining two members of the R&B group.

Now it looks like we may have another reason to shake our heads in disbelief. VH1 has just released footage from the biopic that documents TLC’s rise to fame. The film titled CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story has a teaser for those who can’t believe that this is actually happening.

While the production value looks pretty decent for a straight-to-television biopic, we still don’t know if the girls will actually capitalize on the tragic death of their star member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. One thing is for sure is that Lil Mama is spot on as Left Eye, which we’re pretty shocked to see given our initial surprise.

In addition to Lil Mama as Left Eye, Keke Palmer plays Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas, Drew Sidora plays Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, and Carl Anthony Payne II plays Antionio “L.A.” Reid.

Recently the remaining two members have received quite the backlash after announcing that they were going to remake their number one hit Waterfalls, which was mostly comprised of their fallen member Lisa. The girls replaced Lisa Lopes’ rap verse with a Japanese pop star named Namie Amuro.

This move angered Left Eye’s family, with the rapper’s sister Reigndrop Lopes, telling TMZ: “I did not know about it until a fan posted it online. I mean, it would have been nice if they would have given us a heads up before being surprised.”

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was easily the most popular member of the trio. She was killed 11-years-ago in a car crash in Honduras. Since her death, the trio thought of reuniting with a hologram of Left Eye but that hasn’t panned out yet.
