‘Knights Of Badassdom’ Picked Up By Entertainment One

The long-delayed horror-comedy Knights of Badassdom may soon see the light of day.

Don’t let the film’s Internet Movie Database date fool you. Director Joe Lynch’s flick has been in the works since way back in 2010. Genre fanatics will soon be able to see the movie they’ve been reading about for years.

The folks at Entertainment One recently snatched up North American distribution rights to Knights of Badassdom. The film will reportedly get a day-and-date release in theaters and VOD. However, a release date has not been set as of this writing.

The film tells the story of several LARPers (Live Action Role Players) who accidentally unleash a demon. It’s up to them to stop this unspeakable evil before it kills them all.

Here’s the official synopsis:

After being dumped by his sexy girlfriend Beth, Joe reluctantly decides to join Eric and his LARPing friends in the woods rather than stay behind and feel sorry for his newly single status. There he meets hot, ass-kicking, intimidating LARPer Gwen, and finds himself plunged into a surreal adventure wilder than he ever imagined when a make-believe wizard casts an all-too-real spell from an ancient book. That spell releases an actual demon with a taste for human blood — and souls — that starts systematically decimating the players in this suddenly deadly game. Will our guys become the heroes they have been pretending to be before time runs out?

Knights of Badassdom sports a number of talented actors and actresses including Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, Ryan Kwanten, and Steve Zahn. Matt Wall and Kevin Dreyfuss provided the script for the flick.

Joe Lynch previously worked on the horror anthology Chillerama and the enjoyably gory direct-to-video sequel Wrong Turn 2: Dead End. This writer is certainly excited that Lynch’s flick is finally getting a proper release.

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming horror-comedy. The clip is a little on the gory side, so be sure you’re ready for it.

Are you looking forward to Knights of Badassdom?
