The royal baby, His Royal Highness Prince of Cambridge, is at home now and he is being introduced to the rest of his very illustrious family on Wednesday. Uncle Harry and his great-granny Queen Elizabeth have paid him a visit.
After making the world wait for days for his arrival, the future King of England, who remains nameless (at least publicly), is receiving the rest of his family.
The Palace has confirmed that the Queen paid a visit to Kate, William, and the two-day-old Prince at their home in Kensington Palace, the couple’s London residence.
Queen Elizabeth, 87, stayed for about half an hour and one of the topics discussed was the name the future King will be known by. It is customary for royals to have three to four names.
Outside the hospital, while briefly speaking with reporters, the baby’s father, William, said they wanted to first “catch up,” meaning they want to get to know the royal baby before bestowing a name on him.
The names that are favored by experts are George and James. Both are full of tradition in the British monarchy and have been used for previous kings of England.
When choosing a name for their offspring, William and Kate will not only have to consider what they both like but what is right for the future king, and the name will have to be approved by Queen Elizabeth.
Some believe that Spencer would be a good name; that is Diana’s family name. It would be a way to honor the baby’s late grandmother. William was extremely close to his mother.
New uncle Harry also paid a visit to the new baby on Wednesday, which was somewhat surprising since he has been stationed with the Royal Air Force in Wattisham, Suffolk.
Harry has said that he is very excited to become an uncle, and we can assume that this visit was more relaxed and fun for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
