Flock of Seagulls Robbed: Band Says $70K Worth Of Equipment, New Music Stolen From Van

The band Flock of Seagulls was reportedly robbed this weekend of more than $70,000 worth of musical equipment.

This is shocking news for several reasons. First, the Flock of Seagulls are still playing? Second, they can still afford $70,000 worth of equipment. Authorities have already answered those two question (yes, they are currently on tour. And maybe, they were using rented equipment) but they haven’t been able to find the thieves.

According to Fox News, the bands van was sitting outside of their Comfort Inn hotel in Downey. A security camera shows an unidentified person climbing into the van and driving off with all of the band’s gear.

Frontman Mike Score believes that the band was followed back to their hotel after their show on Saturday night. The Flock of Seagulls lost stage costumes, guitars, drums, and keyboards during the theft.

All of that can be replaced but Score said that the band was really distraught over a few hard drives that were stolen. Score said that he has been working on his first solo album but all of his music was stored on those hard drives.

Here’s the security cam footage showing the Flock Of Seagulls’ van getting stolen.

Score said: “When we had days off, we could set up a little studio and continue working… We were pretty close to the end. It’s 18 months of work just basically thrown into the trash because some people don’t have a real life and have to steal from others. People who do this kind of thing will never have a real life; I think karma in the end will come around and take whatever they have got.”

It looks like it will be a little while longer until we can hear some new Flock of Seagulls music. So in the meantime, here’s the band’s song Wishing.
