Are you ready to sink your teeth into NBC’s Dracula? If you’re excited about the new fall show starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, we have something else to get your blood pumping.
NBC has released a music video trailer to promote the Dracula series. It’s a new form of promotion, but it’s one that makes sense now that viral campaign videos are all the rage on YouTube, Vine, and now Instagram.
The video shows exactly what we could expect before watching the Dracula series. If the video is any indication, we can bet that there will be a lot of sex, violence, and a dreamy looking Jonathan Rhys Meyers. It looks like NBC is taking cues from cable television, specifically HBO, who has had major success with its vampire-centric show True Blood.
The official synopsis for Dracula is as follows:
“Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”) stars in this provocative new one-hour drama as one of the world’s most iconic characters. It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.”
Here’s hoping Dracula can up the creative content on network television.
