David Boreanaz Mocks Fellow Whedon Alum Nathan Fillion

David Boreanaz stirred the pot when he took a mocking jab at Nathan Fillion at Comic-Con over the weekend.

During the Bones panel on Friday, Boreanaz noted that the Castle star was featured on the back of a TV Guide issue that had his own FOX drama on the front. Boreanaz joked “I want to work four days, not five.”

The jab was in reference to Fillion’s July 12 decision to just not show up to work. He’s in the middle of a contract dispute with ABC Studios over his desire to only work four days a week.

Both Boreanaz and Fillion made their names on shows created by beloved geek icon Joss Whedon. Boreanaz is famous for the vampire drama Angel, while Fillion cut his teeth on the short-lived space western Firefly. Teh two even shared some scenes in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The Bones panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con also included an announcement from the show’s creator Hart Hanson, who said that Boreanaz’s Booth would finally marry Emily Deschanel’s Brennan in Season 9.

Last season’s cliffhanger left their relationship hanging in the balance, and Deschanel said that it might take a while for the two to find their way back to each other.

“We come back in the season opener and it still hasn’t been resolved. Brennan’s clearly very upset about the situation. It may take a while for them to be in a good place,” she said.

But Hansen said that he’s not jerking his fans around this season.

“Everybody’s mad at Booth for reneging on the engagement. We’re not fooling you, they are going to get married this season,” he explained.

Do you think that David Boreanaz’s jab at Nathan Fillion was a bit below the belt?
