Obama’s Trayvon Martin Remark Should Be Embraced By Conservatives?

Obama’s Trayvon Martin remark is angering conservatives, but I’m actually surprised they don’t embrace it to make another attack on the President.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Obama’s Trayvon Martin comment that outraged conservatives was the portion of the speech where he claimed “Trayvon Martin could have been me.”

In 2012, Obama said something similar about Trayvon Martin, claiming, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon. When I think about this boy, I think about my own kids.”

The one point conservatives might want to latch onto is that Obama’s Trayvon Martin speech also included an admission about the George Zimmerman trial’s not guilty verdict: “Once the jury has spoken, that’s how our system works.” If Eric Holder pursues a civil rights suit against George Zimmerman then they could point back to Obama’s own statement. Of course, Obama does question the current Stand Your Ground laws embraced by 30 states since 2005, but that’s to be expected.

But Obama’s Trayvon Martin remark in full says, “Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.” So, essentially, it could be construed that President Obama says he was like Trayvon Martin back then. But wouldn’t that help conservatives considering what many say about Trayvon Martin?

Conservatives claim Trayvon Martin was a thug. They also claim President Obama brought Chicago’s thug-like politics to Washington and beyond. Conservatives claim Trayvon Martin is a racist for saying “creepy ass cracker.” They also say President Obama was a black racist in his youth. Conservatives claim Trayvon Martin smoked and dealt marijuana. They also point to how President Obama smoked marijuana during his “Choom gang” days. Conservatives routinely mock Michelle Obama. Well, they aren’t so kind to Trayvon Martin’s girlfriend, either. Conservatives point to Trayvon Martin’s school history, where he allegedly wrote graffiti, got suspended, and school police found potentially stolen jewelry only to be let go due to Miami politics. They also say President Obama’s college education history is fishy. Conservatives say Trayvon Martin’s records were hidden by liberal media. They also say President Obama’s records were sealed to protect him. I’m sure there’s other Obama, Trayvon Martin comparisons to be made.

So, considering how conservatives typically portray Trayvon Martin, why are they protesting Obama’s Trayvon Martin comments that claim they are indeed the same in character?
