Win McMurry: Michael Phelps’ New Girlfriend Makes A Splash At 2013 ESPY Awards

Win McMurry is known to fans of the Golf Channel as a knowledgeable reporter, but after her appearance at the 2013 ESPY Awards she may be better known to the public at large as Michael Phelps’ new girlfriend.

The Olympic swimmer and his girlfriend stepped out to the awards show red carpet together, their first big appearance since they started dating sometime early last month. Win McMurry turned heads on the red carpet with nude heels and a red dress, smiling as she posed alongside Phelps for photographers.

Though they’ve only been together a short time, McMurry and Phelps are indeed an item, a source confirmed to Us Weekly.

While she may not be a 18-time gold medalist like her boyfriend, Win McMurry has quite an impressive resume herself. She is an award-winning reporter and producer, with assignments taking her around the globe.

Win is also a model, being named Golf’s No. 1 Beauty by Sports Illustrated’s GOLF Magazine. She’s also been crowned “Miss Fantasy Challenge” by the Golf Network for her prowess in fantasy golf.

Win McMurry is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

For Michael Phelps, the new relationship comes just a few months after splitting up with girlfriend Megan Rossee. Reports said Phelps didn’t see the relationship going anywhere, and sources say Megan may have had ulterior motives in dating Phelps.

“Like any young girl hoping to make it in Hollywood, she’s ambitious and knows what by associating herself with Michael she will get a lot of press herself,” said a source to RadarOnline, adding, “She’s desperate for her own fame.”

But judging by the appearance at the 2013 ESPY Awards, Michael Phelps is quite happy with new girlfriend Win McMurry. And to top it all off, he walked home with two awards that night — Best Male Olympic Athlete and Best Record-Breaking Performance.
