Woody Allen May Write A Louis C.K. Starring Film

Currently director/writer Woody Allen is in the midst of promotion for probably one of his finest returns to the industry with Blue Jasmine. Throughout promotion we’re sure to get a few good sound bites of the odd Allen, whose creative choices have often divided film critics.

Although there’s a lot of talented names in Blue Jasmine, Allen shifted the attention over to comedian Louis C.K. as he discussed an idea for a film that would have the actor star.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Allen had a lot of praise for Louis C.K. In our opinion the praise is deserved as the comedian has managed to balance both dramatic and comedic performances in his television show Louie.

During his praise of Louis C.K. Woody Allen had this to say:

“He’s so likeable. He’s clearly such a sweet guy. I was dying to use him in something, so we used him to play the sweeter guy. I’d love to do a movie with him and me, a comedy. I’m looking for some idea that would work, for the two of us to do.”

Currently Louis has a small role in this film Blue Jasmine. Of C.K.’s role Woody said:

“Of course I hope that people aren’t disappointed that I don’t act with him [in “Blue Jasmine”], and he doesn’t have a commensurately comic part with his talent. But some day, I will get something that we could do together, because I do think it would be fun. I’m such a great fan of his.”

As odd as it may seem, a Woody Allen film starring Louis C.K. isn’t out of Woody’s realm. The director often casts actors who can ride both worlds of drama and comedy, and his best leading men have often been sympathetic, which Louis has proved to be throughout his television show.
